Our meetings include: a speaker on some aspect of fishing or boating; a delicious meal provided by the yacht club at $10 per plate; fishing reports by members (aka – lies); planning for our monthly activities, lots and lots off great raffle prizes and, of course, good fellowship and fun. There is no charge for attending the meetings and all guests are welcome.
Our monthly newsletter keeps our members informed on what’s happening locally and from the State Board.
For those of you who are interested in learning more about all kinds of fishing in the Delta River System area, come join us for an evening of information and fun. We sponsor a yearly Get Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs Kids Fishing Derby, where we treat over two hundred youngsters to a day of free fishing and a free lunch at Contra Loma State Park. We provide free bait and a fishing tackle bag for each youngster. Prizes and trophies are awarded to several age groups for the largest fish caught. All in all, it’s a great day for the kids and we (the adults) do have a lot of fun.
Through all these activities, functions and seminars there is but one truth that links us together, we are fishermen and fisherwomen who care for the environment and the future of our fisheries. If you like (love) fishing and are concerned about our fisheries, come join us. We’ll try to give you a great big, warm, welcome and more!
